Mark the preferred location and what is above it

Sketch the room and where you would like the cassette to appear. Tell the contractor about known ceiling construction, upper-floor rooms or limited attic access. Ask what must be inspected before confirming the location. The finished grille is only the visible part of the installation, so keep the space above it in the discussion.

Confirm the selected product fits

Mitsubishi’s MLZ is a recessed ceiling indoor unit. Its product description targets installation between ceiling joists. That is a product example, not proof that it fits your ceiling. Request the actual model dimensions and the installer’s assessment of the available space. Have the responsible contractor address structural conflicts rather than assuming framing can be altered to accommodate the unit.

Compare the concealed-work checklist

Use rows for access, refrigerant and electrical routes, condensate handling, controls, filter access and ceiling restoration. Ask how each system will be serviced after the work is complete. If a condensate pump is proposed, request its identity, service access and the response to a fault without trying to specify the installation yourself. Ask who handles painting or patching and whether any access panel remains visible. Compare a wall-mounted alternative using the same room coverage and complete finishing scope.

Choose the whole installation

Request a drawing and installed price for the confirmed location, with unresolved conditions clearly marked. Save the access and service instructions with the product record. Use a supplied total for the actual heating/cooling configuration; the calculator’s limited ductless reference does not price every cassette arrangement. A flush appearance is useful only if the installation, maintenance and repair access are all part of the agreed project.
