Questions covered in this guide
Describe the rooms and the desired appearance
Mark the rooms you want served and where visible grilles would be acceptable. Note whether doors are normally closed and which ceilings or closets could provide access. Ask the contractor to design around that use rather than assuming one concealed unit will automatically serve every nearby room.
Identify the exact indoor-unit type
Mitsubishi offers concealed ducted indoor units. Its low-static models are described for short duct runs serving limited rooms. Ask which model fits the proposed duct arrangement and why. Have the contractor provide the equipment selection and room-load rationale. A concealed unit’s compact appearance does not replace a design for the air paths, controls and service access that surround it.
Compare the installed distribution scope
Make rows for indoor unit, supply ducts, return path, grilles, filter access, drainage, controls and access panels. Ask who opens and restores ceilings or walls and whether the quoted access remains usable after cabinetry or finishes are installed. Request a drawing identifying each served room and the planned outlets. Have the installer explain how airflow will be checked at completion. If a wall-mounted alternative is quoted, compare the same room coverage and finishing work rather than only the equipment prices.
Keep the custom work in the total
Ask for a complete installed price with any opening or restoration work clearly included or excluded. Retain the equipment and duct layout with the proposal. Use a supplied total for this configuration on your project worksheet; the calculator’s cooling-only ductless reference does not price every concealed ducted or heating-and-cooling system. Leave unresolved access or room-coverage questions visible until the contractor answers them.
